I have been working in psychiatry here in West Michigan for over 22 years. I have most experience and reputation working with individuals struggling with fairly complicated or difficult to treat symptoms connected with my areas of expertise and interest listed below. It is my goal to offer patients evidence-based, effective treatments for severe and difficult to treat symptoms to improve functioning and quality of life.
During an initial consultation, I will review the reasons you are seeking assessment or treatment, review your previous treatment history, personal habits, medical history, family history, social history, and developmental history as well as a brief mental status examination. Based on this information, I will develop and recommend a comprehensive treatment plan that typically includes a discussion of psychopharmacology treatments (psychiatry medications). I work closely with psychotherapists, as most complicated cases benefit from some form of psychotherapy.
